Vintage Airstream Photo Lounge for Los Angeles Events

A polished vintage Airstream does two jobs at once: it is a working photo lounge, bar, or brand set piece, and it is the decor guests photograph before they even step inside. Coachella Party operates a fleet of vintage Airstreams from our base in Palm Desert and tows them into Greater Los Angeles regularly, from a refinery in El Segundo to a studio lot in Culver City. Here is how the buildouts work and what an LA planner needs to know about placing one.

The fleet

Our best known trailer is the 66 Spirit, a 1966 Trade Wind 24 footer that is completely windowless. The missing windows are the point: outside, the uninterrupted aluminum shell polishes to a mirror and takes vinyl wraps and die cut decals beautifully; inside, the light is fully controlled, which is exactly what a photo lounge wants. Alongside it we run the Passe-Partout, a nimbler 14 foot trailer, and the Bambi, the compact classic that starred on the Amazon Studios lot. Different sizes suit different courtyards, lots, and budgets.

If the space cannot take a trailer at all, the same vintage appeal comes in a smaller package: our 1973 VW Bus photo booth parks in a fraction of the footprint, carries brand logos on its doors, and gives guests the classic booth experience with the bus itself as the draw. It is often the right answer for tighter LA courtyards where an Airstream simply will not make the turn.

Three ways to build it out

Photo lounge

The photo lounge configuration turns the trailer into a small studio: a photo booth setup inside, a custom furniture lounge package, and Bluetooth speakers for a playlist that matches the event. Guests step in, shoot, and step out with prints and instant sharing, and the queue outside becomes part of the scene.

Bar and refreshment service

With the service window open, the same trailer becomes a bar or treat station. We can staff a server inside taking orders and handing out drinks for up to seven hours, and provision up to 500 cups of coffee, tea, and other beverages. At the Chevron El Segundo refinery, three of our Airstreams ran for four days as snack and drink stations for an employee appreciation event.

Branded activation

For launches and studio work the trailer becomes a canvas. Options run from a pair of die cut logos beside the service window to a full wrap, plus custom backdrops, LED neon built for the activation, and a branded canopy. When Amazon Studios hosted LA Screenings, our Bambi wore a full wrap for The Sheep Detectives, dressed with hay bales and props until a studio corner read as countryside. And at the LOL Surprise movie premiere at Hollywood Forever, the 66 Spirit anchored the arrivals scene.

Placing an Airstream at an LA venue

An Airstream event is a logistics exercise before it is a party, and this is where experience shows:

  • Access. Each trailer arrives behind a heavy duty pickup and needs a clear route to its spot: gate widths, overhead clearance, turns, and surfaces all matter. Walk the route with us early.
  • Leveling and power. We level and power the trailer on site. Where there is no hookup, we bring battery power with solar charging, which keeps generators, noise, and cable runs out of your event.
  • Permits. For street or public placements, we offer site identification, feasibility assessment, and city permit procurement for the vehicle placement, so the paperwork is handled by the people responsible for the trailer.
  • Venue rules. Studio lots, refineries, and resorts each impose their own security checks, insurance certificates, and load-in windows. We have worked all three.

Timing and budget

Wraps and custom decals need production lead time, so bring the creative conversation forward; the trailer can be delivered polished the day before and revealed in character on event day. On budget, typical market rates for vehicle based activations start above standard booth pricing, from the low thousands for a simple placement into five figures for wrapped, multi day activations, driven mostly by fabrication and staffing rather than the trailer itself.

From the desert to your lot

Coachella Party is based in Palm Desert and serves Greater Los Angeles and San Diego regularly (the name refers to the Coachella Valley, not the music festival, with which we have no affiliation). If you have a courtyard, a rooftop deck with vehicle access, or a studio corner in mind, send us a photo of the space and we will tell you which trailer fits and how it gets there.
